Ask the expert: Our cat heart murmur, a pre-existing condition on our policy?

Earlier this month I received an email from Melissa, concerned that her cat’s heart murmur might be considered as a pre-existing condition by her insurer. Is it or is it not? Let’s find out…

Hi

We have pet insurance and rescued 2 x 3 year old moggies from a rescue centre at the end of November, when the policy was taken out.

We took them to our local vets on Saturday 9th of January to have their jabs and basic health checks.

We were told that one has a heart murmur. We had no idea anything was wrong and are now worried that our insurance company will treat this as a pre-existing condition if we claim?

Thanks

Melissa

In other words if you aren’t what the insurance companies are looking for….

Haitians spend $20 million on all types of insurance and $10 million comes from auto insurance premiums. That means the vast majority of a country with almost 10 million people have no insurance of any kind.

Pre Qualified Life Insurance Leads

As the insurance market undergoes stiff competition, there is no assured way of getting continuous leads at all times. Besides, people are becoming more aware of issues by the day, making it more difficult to get them to buy insurance. In such a scenario, pre-qualified life insurance leads are better than other types of leads.

Many life insurance lead companies adopt various strategies to get customers to fill out a form on their websites or at their physical locations. These are generally people who are somewhat aware of the importance of life insurance and who also roughly know what they want. These people often search for the best insurance policy on their own.
